Hurrem

Hurrem is a henna night gown made from deep burgundy velvet – a fabric that photographs richly and holds its colour under both warm indoor lighting and flash. The bodice features a deep-V illusion neckline over a satin-finish underlay, with hand-applied gold crystals and beadwork covering the surface. The bell sleeves are tiered in two sections – each tier is finished separately and carries its own beading — which gives the sleeves their weight and movement as you raise and lower your arms. This is a gown designed for a seated ceremony as much as for standing photographs: the silhouette reads clearly and the detail holds up at close range.

The skirt falls into a full A-line shape and carries a scalloped gold bead pattern that runs from the hip to the hem. Each scallop is a curved line of beads that overlaps with the one below it, building a layered effect across the lower half of the skirt. The back closes with a traditional lace-up and is accented with decorative tassels at the closure point – a detail consistent with Ottoman-inspired formal dress. A matching beaded headpiece is included with the gown. All beadwork and crystal placement is done by hand before the gown leaves production.
